Adding a camera to the application is a necessary condition for adjusting the camera settings.
Camera settings will let you configure the camera according to your needs. To find them please select the Devices module in the main menu (you will open it by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner).
In this module, click the Cameras tab in the toolbar, and then highlight one or more cameras which settings you want to specify or change.
The Camera settings pop-up window with data entry fields will open.
Attention! Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required. These fields must not be left blank wherever you encounter them.
At any time you can ask for help if you click the question mark icon (?) in bottom left corner. The Camera settings pop-up window can be closed by clicking X in top right corner.
The Camera settings pop-up window consists of three tabs:
- General
- Image&video
- Recording.
General
In the General tab, you can adjust the basic camera settings.
1) Name - enter the name of the camera here.
2) Location - select the corresponding camera location from the drop-down menu. The location must be pre-created.
3) Description - here you can add a description of the camera.
4) User name - in the drop-down menu, select the name of the ONVIF user defined in the settings via the camera web interface.
5) Password - enter the appropriate ONVIF user password defined in the settings via the camera web interface.
6) Select time zone - in the drop-down menu, select the appropriate camera time zone.
7) IP address - enter the IP address of the camera here.
8) Port - enter the port number through which the communication with the web server will be performed.
9) NTP - enter the IP address of the NTP (Network Time Protocol) web server here.
10) Video server - in the drop-down menu, select the Supracontrol Video Server to which the camera will be associated.
11) Shot delay (sec) - enter the number of seconds of video delay for the selected camera here.
12) Observed locations - a camera can be associated with one location where it is placed and observe another location. Here you can select the locations to which it will be associated (click on the arrow next to each item and check the appropriate box) or search for it in the database and add it.
13) Cancel button - click this button to leave the pop-up window without saving.
14) Save button - click this button to save all settings.
Image&video
The Image&Video tab can be used to specify or change the camera image quality display settings.
1) Snapshot view - view the image of the selected camera in real time.
2) Controls - you can control these four sliders in the range from 0 to 100 by moving them left or right (or by entering values in the box to the right of them). In this way you can determine the level of:
- brightness
- contrast
- hue
- saturation.
3) Stream 1 (SD) and Stream 2 (HD) - here you can adjust parameters for transmission in standard (SD) or high (HD) resolution by selecting the appropriate values in the drop-down menu:
- resolution - select the image resolution.
- FPS - select the number of frames per second.
- bitrate - select the bit rate.
- keyframe - select the keyframe number.
4) Cancel button and Save button - after entering all the data, click the Save button. If you want to cancel for any reason, click the Cancel button.
Recording
The Recording tab can be used to pre-determine when recording will start or stop, and how long it will take.
In order for this to be possible, there should be a Supracontrol video surveillance implemented in the desired location and a camera added to the Supracontrol application.
Recorded videos can be viewed by opening the Playback module. It is also possible to set to receive notifications about the recorded event via the selected medium. For more information, see Subscriptions article.
Four settings are available:
- General
- Motion detection
- Line cross detection
- System trigger.
General
1) Enable continuous recording - if you check the box next to this setting, you will enable continuous location recording.
2) Recording type - select the desired recording resolution (SD or HD) from the drop-down menu.
3) Cancel button and Save button - after entering all the data, click the Save button. If you want to cancel for any reason, click the Cancel button.
Motion Detection
With this setting, you can instruct the camera to start recording upon motion detection.
1) Enable motion detection - if you check this box, you will turn on motion detection.
2) Enable pre-event recording - if you check this box, you will enable pre-event recording activation.
3) Duration (sec) - here you can specify the recording time before the event (in seconds).
